Ways to Keep Positive

One of the worst parts of being in your early 20's is being in slight limbo with your life. One of the things I struggle with the most was feeling like I was stuck in a rut. I hate feeling like i'm procrastinating and wasting days. So in the last few months I've changed my ways, not drastically, but you'd be surprised how the little things will change your mood.

- Moving: I know its a cliche but try and do some exercise; now when I say this I don't necessarily mean the most intense workout ever. If your not up for sweating buckets, just go on a lovely walk or cycle. Just make sure you get out of the house, get some sunlight and keep relatively active.

-Eating: your diet has the ability to effect your mood in ways you can't imagine. You don't always need to change your diet just to loose weight. You could way 8 stone and look like a Victoria Secret model but if you're diet consists of saturated fats, sugars and empty calories you're going to feel lethargic and desperate for energy. Start by try by reducing bad carbohydrates, sugars and saturated fats. Carbs and fat are a necessary part of a balanced diet, but in the right way. Try wholemeal bread, pasta and rice and good fats such as greek yoghurt, peanuts and avacados.

-Sleeping: people between the ages of 15 to 25 seem to have the most disturbed sleeping patterns I think this has gotten particular worse with our generation because we have far too many distractions. The best quality sleep you can get is if you sleep before midnight; preferably between 10 and 11. This also means your body clock will naturally wake up early meaning you can make the most of your day. So try putting your phone down at a reasonable time, give yourself time to relax and wind down by reading a book or magazine; just avoid technology as much as possible.
