As much as I am not an advocate to being glued to your phone 24/7 and missing the world go by I do believe that in the 21st century technology has made our lives a million times easier to structure, if you do so efficiently. I am going to be starting a series called "Appaholic" where I will be testing apps through trial and error in order to review them for you. I will cover a basis of categories for example; cooking, organisation, beauty, exercise and dieting. The way I'm going to kickstart this is with health and fitness.
App 1: Lifesum
This app covers quite a wide variety of categories it guides you on a path to improving your health and fitness levels through different diets, exercise and advice. It also provides equipment to help track and maintain your health lifestyle and progress in your personal goals.
This is a particularly good app for weight loss, not only does it take in all your data to come up with a calorie controlled plan that is suitable for you it also gives advice with recipes and strategies that will help you progress towards your goals. You can also upgrade to the premium version of the app for £3 pounds a month to access a world of healthy recipes and fitness advice.
App 2: Seven (7)
In case this wasn't clear I am a lover of simplicity and this app is easy to navigate and so simple in it's design. I also like the fact it sticks to a specific genre of health and fitness as not to complicate with too many areas of the app to navigate.
The routines are easy to follow and very clearly instructed. The images shown below are also animated so your clearly instructed on how you're supposed to be doing the routine correctly. I'm going to be honest, it's hard and if you're not struggling by the end of it you're definitely not doing it right. This app also enables you to build up stamina and as you progress it allows you to gradually unlock further levels of intensity. Obviously I haven't been using this nearly long enough to anlayse any results i've seen in myself so I will definitely do an update on this review.
App 3: Nike +
Nike+ Running has always been a favourite of mine. I'm not a massive lover of running naturally but the nike app really motivates me to keep going and makes me competitive with myself and my personal bests. When I see my improvements daily and it stimulates me to keep up the hard work. For amateur joggers that want to improve and make the most of their workouts this app is perfect. It's great to help train for a race or just improve your fitness and over all performance as a runner.
One of my absolute favourite features of this app is it's compatibility with music. The app is compatible with your phones music library. So before heading out for your run you can set the app up to play a specific playlist meaning you don't have to constantly switch between apps. The best part of this feature is the "power song". This is a list of songs you create that motivate you're when running, so when your lacking steam and running low on energy you can hit the power song button to motivate you to go that little bit further.
